Witnessing your child struggle with their mental health is challenging. It’s normal to feel concerned, overwhelmed, scared, heartbroken, frustrated, and more.

We're here to offer guidance and support

Who We Serve

I am a therapeutic and educational consultant for parents of struggling children and teens who need help...
+ finding additional support services at home
+ finding a safe, reputable therapeutic program or school
+transitioning their child back home from a program.

I believe that all children and teens want healthy relationships and a positive identity so I work alongside your family and your child’s team to help achieve that goal.

With masters degrees in Educational and Organizational leadership and a bachelor’s degree in education, I am uniquely suited to serve your family well. Prior to entering the mental health field in 2019, I was a teacher and taught students ranging from preschool through eighth grade.

Now, I help overwhelmed, exhausted parents who never imagined being in this situation navigate the therapeutic field by providing guidance, support, and tailored therapeutic recommendations so they can take a breath, and know their child is in the right place to get the services they need.

Meet Misty

I am a therapeutic and educational consultant for parents of struggling children and teens who need help...
+ finding additional support services at home
+ finding a safe, reputable therapeutic program or school
+transitioning their child back home from a program.

I believe that all children and teens want healthy relationships and a positive identity so I work alongside your family and your child’s team to help achieve that goal.

My role is to help overwhelmed, exhausted parents  navigate the therapeutic field by providing guidance, support, and tailored therapeutic recommendations so they can take a breath, and know their child is in the right place to get the services they need.

Step 1: Have a consultation call
The first thing we'll do is hop on a zoom call (or phone if you prefer). We'll take half an hour and discuss your young person, review the process, and answer any and all questions that you have. If you decide to move forward, I'll send over your paperwork and we'll get started.

Step 2: Zoom calls and meetings
First, we'll get back together for an intake call with just parents. After that call, I'll meet with your child and then we'll get back together to debrief the conversation. During this time I'll also be speaking with your child's professionals (therapists, psychiatrists, teachers, etc.) to get additional information and reading any testing/IEPs you submitted as well.

Step 3: The research phase
I'll go over the information I collected in step two and put together a list of programs that would be best suited for your child. Then, I'll reach out to each program and see if they have availability and whether they think your child would be a good fit for their current milieu.

Step 4: Options meeting and case management
Once I have a final list to present to you, we will hop back on zoom for an options meeting. At this time I'll tell you which programs I think would be a good fit (and why). Then, we'll go over how to research and tour these programs so you can decide what would be the best fit for your child. Once your child is at treatment, I will follow up with their therapist and continue to case manage.

The Process

While no vetting process is perfect, the emotional, physical, and mental safety of your child is always my top priority.

I regularly go and tour schools and programs--while I'm there I tour the facility and speak with students, staff, and parents to hear how their experience has been--what has been going well and what needs improvement.

I also connect with colleagues and we share regular updates on our experiences with the programs.

That being said, families are strongly encouraged to go through their own vetting process as well. I will help connect you with the appropriate person in admissions so that you can schedule a tour and speak with the care team, students, and parents for yourself as well. I always highly recommend that parents visit programs in person.

Who we Serve

About MNC

Home plans are for families whose child is currently at home and who may already have a team of professionals in place. With a home plan, MNC will walk alongside you and help you set up additional structure for your home based on your expectations for your young person. We will also help you find good local resources for your child to utilize in the home environment such as local intensive outpatient programs, partial hospitalization programs, therapists, psychiatrists, wrap-around services, and more.
During this time, we will meet and discuss your primary concerns regarding your child and the expectations you would like them to meet. We will then draft the document for you to present to your child. Throughout the three months, we will have weekly or bi-weekly check ins to discuss how the home contract is going and resource you and your family appropriately.

Placements outside of the home could include a therapeutic wilderness program, a residential treatment center, a therapeutic boarding school, or other possible programs depending on the needs of your child and the goals of your family. For this service, MNC will work with you and your family for six months, helping determine what schools or programs would be a good fit for your young person and providing you with support and guidance as you investigate them and make a selection. Then we provide ongoing case management for the duration of the six months. If you child goes to a short-term program first, we will provide a second set of recommendations for you to choose from for their next step depending on the recommendation of the therapist and your goals/preferences for your child.

Students who are currently at a school or program and are ready to be discharged home can be supported through a transition plan. Together we will come up with a home plan to set clear expectations and boundaries for your young person so that everyone is on the same page when they come home. Additionally, we will help you find care team members for your child if you need them (such as therapists, psychiatrists, etc.) and can review local school options with you as well.
